Funny: The circle of clowns is now in place with "comedian" Al Franken taking his place in the U.S. Senate.

Not so funny: Liberal Democrats now have a filibuster-proof majority of 60 in the Senate. Theoretically, Obama can appoint anyone he wants to the Supreme Court or any other position, without even token resistance from the Republicans.

Not so funny: We are sooooooooo screwed.

An acquaintance of mine was talking about something related to this yesterday.

The nature of the United States today is very much like the Weimar Republic of the 1900's.

We are ripe for a coup and/or a dictatorship.

Cap & Trade might be the spark that lights it all.

It's ok, the 4.5 conservatives on the bench are all still fairly young so they will wait him out.
